LeafBlaster® Gutter Guard
The LeafBlaster Gutter Protection System consists of three main components: a front anodized aluminum drip edge; a type 316 stainless steel V-Bend mesh filter mesh; and a water syphon control strip under the mesh. Our Patent Pending LeafBlaster gutter guard can be installed on various gutter types such as Ogee, half round, fascia, curved and box. It can also be installed on various types of roofs such as asphalt shingle, wood shake, flat tile, Spanish tile and stone coated steel.
LeafBlaster’s specifications were uniquely designed so that it simply slips under the roof shingles and rests on top of the roof-deck/water-barrier (tar paper) to “clamp” the gutter guard in place and stabilize its structure. The solid aluminum front fits snuggly to the front lip of the gutter via three self-tapping screws for each four foot length. LeafBlaster should be installed at the same pitch as the roof (up to a 6/12 pitch) to get the best performance.
Aluminum Drip Edge:
The aluminum drip edge is made from extruded aluminum that is anodized to further protect itself from the environment and to make it more adaptable to be installed on a copper gutter. The anodizing process converts the aluminum surface into an extremely durable and corrosion resistant aluminum oxide finish.
Anodizing also responds favorably to current governmental regulations because it is one of the most environmentally friendly industrial processes. Since this process is a reinforcement of a naturally occurring oxide process, it is non-hazardous and produces no harmful or dangerous by products.
Anodized aluminum is used around the world as highly durable exteriors in commercial buildings such as one of the world’s tallest buildings, the Sears Tower in Chicago, Illinois. Other revolutionized uses are in scientific instruments, home appliances, satellites in space for harsh environmental protection, staircases in skyscrapers and a host of other uses.
V-Bend 316 Stainless Steel Mesh:
The revolutionary corrugated V-Bend technology gives LeafBlaster it's rigidity and strength to sustain itself above your gutter, allowing it to remain free standing without the added cost of a support structure underneath, while permiting more than 100 inches of hourly rainfall to filter through.
Type 316 stainless steel is molybdenum-bearing austenitic, which is more resistant to general corrosion and pitting/crevice corrosion than the conventional chromium nickel austenitic, lower-quality stainless steels, such at types 302, 304, or any other standard stainless steel alloys. 316 alloy offers higher creep, stress-to-rupture, and tensile strength at elevated temperatures. It also resists attack of marine and corrosive industrial atmospheres which makes it an ideal component for LeafBlaster.
